Corporate Volunteer Day – Lloyds TSB

Bournemouth Echo:

COMMUNITY-minded volunteers left their offices to spend a day sprucing up the garden of a supported housing charity.

Lloyds TSB workers spent a day at Hope Housing Training and Support in St Swithun’s Road South, Bournemouth.

They mowed the lawn, sowed vegetables, picked up litter and planted shrubs to maximise the potential of the garden, used by vulnerable homeless people.

Many of the charity’s clients suffer from drug or alcohol-related or mental health problems and the garden is a fantastic place for them to learn new skills.

Sam Roubaiey, fundraising manager, said: “We’re really happy with everything they’ve done, it’s all looking great.”

“This is a great initiative. It’s a great team-building opportunity for them and a great opportunity for us to show people what we do here.”

Lloyds Banking Group is the biggest investor in UK communities, investing £85m during 2011 and committed to doing so again this year.

“The Team!”

Everyone at Hope would like to thank Lloyds TSB for lending us some of their employees for the day. The work they have carried out is fantastic, as well as maintaining the garden, it has increased the appeareance of the garden for our residents.
